Dia de Muerto on November 2nd:)♥ It was such a Mexican experience for me cuz how they treat dead ppl was totally different from my culture. In Mexico, dead ppl come and visit us on 11/1 and 11/2. They may eat their favorite food and they party:)!

3 weeks in Taiwan:)

たまに取る自分だけのmeditation timeは、いつもの自分を見直して、これからのエネルギーをためて本当に大切なことに気づけるとても貴重な時間。


台湾での３週間、二林（2週間）台北（１週間）があっという間に終わって、
さっきフィリピンのニノイアキノ
国際空港に到着。前に来たのは高校１年生の夏。空港で降り立った瞬間の強烈な印象が少しだけまだ頭の片隅に残ってるような。今は10月で気候とかも大分違うけど。やっぱりこの国が好きだなー！






Okay, my reflection of Taiwan. here we goooo:)

Arriving in Taichun at midnight. We got to stay at the temple on the very first night.

Regional learning day. performance by local students:) Dragon dance

getting to know Taiwanese students:)!! I had the opportunity to do presentation in one of the university classes with ohter 2 uppies. It was cool experience for me to learn how to facilitate class. Dance with circumstances!!

My mom and sis came to see my show:)!! It was great take time-off for a little bit from UWP and spent my time with my own family. My mom seemed really enjoy Taiwan:)yay

台湾に来た時、最初はやっぱりアメリカ人の子とかのカルチャーショックがひどかったみたい＆キャストも時差ボケになって疲労困憊、ホストファミリーと言語が通じない上にみんなめっちゃタイトなスケジュールで疲れてるからさらに大変だったり、とか色々あったけど、それでもやっぱり台湾は最高でした^^♥なんといっても私は台湾の人たちが好き♡
みんなとっても親切で、どんなとこで迷っててもすぐに道を教えてくれたり。

このホスピタリティーは私も見習わないと:)！今度台湾のみんながもしも日本に遊びにきたら私も出来ることしよう:)♡

台湾:)!!

台湾に来て早くも3週間が経とうとしています！はやっ
さてさて、10月10日はなんとっ‼台湾の建国記念日でした(^^)！台北アリーナであったとっても大きなイベントにup with peopleも参加したよ♡
台湾101周年！
こんなおめでたい時に参加出来て、なんてラッキー！とっても嬉しい(^^)♡

UWP最後のアメリカ！明日からいざ台湾へ♡

"SLEEP NEXT YEAR! UPPIES!!"って前Up with PeopleのAlumunusに言われたけど、まさにその通り。本当に朝の５時とか６時くらいから１日の活動が始まって、夜12時くらいまでフルパワーで色んなことを体験して笑って時には泣いてもういっぱいいっぱいな毎日を過ごしています。

Up with Peopleは17歳から29歳までが参加出来るアメリカを本拠地とする国際教育プログラムで、世界各国（今回は20カ国）から約100名のキャストが集って半年間（もしくは１年）旅をする団体♡

メインの要素は３つあって

①ボランティア活動
ー出来るだけ色んなコミュニティーを通して社会に良いインパクトを与える
学校や老人ホーム、現地の施設とか何でも！

②２２都市くらいを半年間で回る！
今回の旅はアメリカのデンバーから始まりマサチューセッツ、台湾、フィリピン、メキシコに行きます♡一週間に一度のペースで新しい所に移動していて、各地でホームステイしてます♡だから色んなところに家族がいっぱい出来る。なんだかんだ一番私の好きなところかも♡今のところとっても素敵な生き方をしている沢山の家族に出会えてる。色んな家庭があるなっていうことも実感。

③インターナショナルなパフォーマンスをする！
週に最低１回はショーがある。60sー90sとか色んな世代のメドレー曲があったり色んな国の曲があったりUp with Peopleのオリジナルソングがあったり。舞台は全部プロフェッショナルによって手がけられているからそれなりのクウォリティーはあるはず。舞台の機材とかも全部アメリカ国内は２トントラックで運んで移動してた。照明とか音響とかについても学べる。これからの６週間、私はバックステージアシスタントとして色々勉強します。


これがざっとUp with Peopleのアスペクトかな。日本にいる時は、あんまりどんな団体か分かってなかったら最初は参加するか本当に迷ってたけど、今は本当に参加して良かったって思ってる^^

Lowell,Massachusetts
Cape cod,MA
Newburyport,MA
Concord,MA
Hamilton,MA
Plymouth, MAの各地に１週間ずつ滞在したかな。

それで明日から台湾に飛び立ちます！（台湾は３週間！）

 ホストファミリーと１日過ごせるのは１週間に１日だけ！（たまに休みない笑）

途中でなんとShawshank Prisonの車を発見！映画Shawshank redenptionがとっても好きだから嬉しかった！メインのプリズンがモデルになってるなんて知らなかった。

コンコルドにいるときはとーっても素敵なお家に滞在してて日本人のキャストこめと一緒に日本食を作って友達を招待してちょっとした晩餐に♡食器とかすべてが素敵！

昨日で６週間のインターンがやっと終わりました！！！！
Marketing and Promotion Internだったんだけど、本当に色んなことに挑戦出来た。Public speakingを伸ばすこととUWPのビジネスアスペクトを見ることが目的だったんだけど、本当にインターンやって今まで知らなかったUp with Pepleの側面が沢山勉強できた気がする。ラジオとか新聞、テレビのインタビューを受けてUp with Peopleのショーのプロモーションをしたり、時には交差点に立って何時間もアピールしたり（プロモのみんなに本当に感謝♡ありがとう♡）

そしてショーデーではホストファミリーが見に来てくれるのが、本当に家族みたいでとっても嬉しい♡

前のホストファミリーが次の都市までわざわざまた見にきてくれたり♡

昨日は最後のショーでした。Plymouth Memorial Hallは歴史のあるホールでとっても素敵でした。最後のアメリカのショーが本当にここで良かったと思える素敵なホール。

公演が始まる前のロビー。１時間以上前から沢山のお客さんが！

ショーの日のMerchandiseやV.I.Pとかロビー全体の管理をするのもインターンの一貫でした。お客さんそれぞれ色んな思いをもってショーに来てくれている。どんなお客さんもwelcomingな笑顔で迎えて楽しいショーの始まりに出来るように心がけました。とっても好きな瞬間の１つでした。

毎日スケジュールがみっちりで本当に自分の時間がなかなかない！って思うことが多かったけど、本当にアメリカの旅、沢山の人に出会えて素敵な時間が過ごせました♡旅にこさせてくれた家族、見送ってくれた友達、こっちで出会ったみんな、みんなみんなに本当に感謝。

明日から台湾♡
アジアンフードが食べれるのがめっちゃ楽しみー！！♡ふはは
（領土問題がちょっと心配だったりするけど） おもいっきり台湾楽しんできます♡

Host Family Day in Cape cod(8/20-27)

金曜＆土曜のショーも無事終わり今日はホストファミリーとのんびり( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ♡

Radio:)♡

I had a radio interview today! 今はLowell high school 借りて朝からミーティングやってるんだけど、今日まず朝着いたらあたしのボスのVeronicaが探しても居なくて、耳を澄ませばなんとラジオからVeronicaの声が‼笑

昨日の夜おそーくにもしかしたら明日一緒に行くかも！みたいなメールきてたから、ちょっとあれ？って思いつっも、あたしは行かないんだな、て思ってちょっと内心残念の気持ちた安心した感じがした( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ笑

でもそしたらラジオを聴いてるあたしの後ろからいきなりオスカーがっ! はい！行くよ‼って言われてリニアと一緒に違局に行くことに！

でもこれは結局雨と渋滞のせいで間に合わなくて(´･_･`)学校に結局は帰ることに。

で、学校に戻ったら今度はVeronicaとまたまた違う局に連れて行かれて結局ラジオに出ることに！

え！どうしよう！ちゃんと出来るか？スポンサーとか頭に入ってるか？とかグャーギャー言う余裕もなく。

はい！ラジオね！

はい！！了解！行きましょう！(全く自信ない)



て感じだった！

でも実際Veronicaもラジオ局の人もさすがめっちゃ話すの上手だし堂々としてるし楽しんでるし学ぶことはめっちゃ多くてとても良い経験が出来た。

金曜日までにElevator speechとGoal設定しなきゃ。

Kimball farm! Promotion:)!!

I went to Kimball farm with other promotion crew today:)!! We had a booth there and did face painting to a bunch of kids:) I didn't even know how to do face painting.. but there was no time to resist lol so I did it:)!!
It was easy more than I expected:) and it was soooo much fun to play with kids:)!! They are always so adorable!!

Tomorrow, I will prbly go to radio interview:)!! Its so exciting:)!! I hope I can promote UWP:)

Lowell in MA!!

I woke up at 4 in the morning today and left my home around 5 to get to Boston:)♡ and now I'm in New Hampshire, which is 30mins away from Lowell,Massachusetts. I wasn't that excited before I came here not because of Boston but just because im gonna miss Cindy and Bob, my host family in Denver so much. We had such a wonderful time together.

BUT I'm so excited now!! I met my new host family and they are all so nice and I have 3 new roomies now:)! We are staying together in downstairs and it's just such a lovely place:)

I'm staying with Lisa from Germany, Caroline from Denver, and Junelle from Nebraska:) I'm already feeling that those roomies will give me a great time here:)!!

I got interviewed by local media today- and it's one of my marketing internship jobs. Well, I need to work on more but it was really good experience to actually talk about Up with People to others and representing UWP:)

So, I had such an amazing day:)♡

Second and final show in Denver:)!!

It's about 1:40 am on August 12:)! I just came back from out second and final show in Denver. I was a little bit worried about our second show at first cuz I thought everyone is tired from last nights show and kinda hard to stay focus on the performance. BUT it turned out to be great:)!! I would say it was better than yesterday. I was more sure about what I'm doing and also audience was good too:)!!
And.. I got to talk to many alumni of UWP tonight and it was great:)!! In fact, some of my cast-mates' parents did travel when they were young:)! Isn't it great? I met will's mom, Paul's dad, Colin's dad, Sarah's mom and so on.. It was GREAT!
Anyway, I should sleep now:) gnight-

2 more days!

Friday is our first performance day so that means we only have 2 more days:)!! I shouldn't give up to improve myself until the last minute! keep trying, work hard:)!!

My first 1-month in Denver, Colorado

(This is the blog I wrote for Up with Peopleちょっと高校生のはじめてのホームステイ体験！みたいな文章になった笑)



          Away from my home, Tokyo, I’m staying with my sweet host family Cindy and Bob Pearson, here in Broomfield, Colorado.

         My name is Mie Ozaki from Japan and I am going to travel with Up with People as cast B, 2012. I am a senior student at Waseda University in Japan. In Japan, it is very common to start job-hunting when you are in 3rd year but I decided to take a half-year off from school and join Up with People! It’s been a month since cast B has started but I’ve already started feeling that it is going to be a very precious experience in my life.

        Today, I would like to share a little bit about my home stay experience in Colorado. My host mom is such an amazing chef and she always prepares wonderful meals for us. Whenever, I get tired of long practice, her meals always make me happy☺ Even though I studied in Toronto for 10 months as an exchange, since I lived in university dorm at that time, I didn’t have chance to get to know the local family. But now, through home-stay with local people, I am able to get to know the real local people’s life. My host mother has a bunch of cooking books and her kitchen is just like what I’ve seen in the movie. Since my host family has a membership with local farm, every week, we get a variety of vegetables and fruits from local farm. They said they even don’t know what they would get from farm each week so they always enjoy what the farm gives them and some of the vegetables and fruits will come along with recommended recipes. So, I’m learning cooking from my host mother every day.

 

     
  Although I’ve been busy with preparing for the show on weekdays, weekend is the very good time to spend my time with host family. One of the weekends, my host family took me to their cottage in West cliff. Colorado has fabulous peaks of Rocky Mountains. Apart from my daily life, I had such a relaxing time up in the mountain. I appreciate my host family who made my life in Colorado wonderful and thank you very much for having my roommate, Chiquita Robinson and me. Thank you very much! Arigatou!!
